October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Everyone of us has been touched by it in a certain way, whether through a friend of a friend or a close family member. The fact is, cancer can strike pretty much anyone and at any time. October is breast cancer awareness month, a month to celebrate the survivors and remember those who were taken too early by this horrible disease. At Moneyball Sportswear it is very important for us to bring awareness to breast cancer and the need for screening. Awareness
Breast cancer will affect 1 in 8 women in their lifetime. That being said, breast cancer is not simply a disease that affects only women; although it is not as common, men are also at risk. The odds of being diagnosed breast cancer are relatively high and that means that most of us will be affected by cancer. The purpose of breast cancer awareness month is to get people thinking about getting screened and encouraging others to be screened. It is that and much more, it is a time of remembrance, for those who have lost the battle with cancer.
Community
When you put it into perspective, the comradery of the sporting community is the ideal forum to raise awareness of breast cancer. As a whole, we can offer unrivaled visibility for something that is bigger than ourselves. This is the beauty of being part of a large community of people who care.
